1. Eligibility

To invest through GateFC, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age (or legal age in your jurisdiction)
• Successfully complete our KYC (Know Your Customer) verification
• Not be a resident of a restricted jurisdiction
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

2. Investment Process

Campaign Participation

When you invest in a player campaign, you are purchasing a percentage of future earnings as specified in the campaign terms. Each campaign has unique terms including:

• Funding goal and minimum/maximum investment amounts
• Equity percentage offered
• Duration of equity arrangement
• How funds will be used
• Expected return timeline

Payment Processing

Payments are processed through our secure payment partner (Stripe). Funds are held in escrow until campaign completion or returned if funding goals are not met.

3. Equity Terms

When you invest in a player, you receive a percentage of their future football-related earnings, which may include:

• Transfer fees (percentage based on contract)
• Signing bonuses
• Performance bonuses
• Endorsement deals (if specified in campaign)

Equity arrangements typically last for a defined period (commonly 5-10 years) or until a specified return multiple is achieved.

4. Returns and Distributions

Returns are not guaranteed and depend on the player's career progression. Distributions are made when qualifying events occur (e.g., transfer fees received).

GateFC charges a platform fee of 10% on distributed returns. Additional fees may apply for currency conversion or international transfers.

5. Risk Factors

You acknowledge the following risks:

• Career Risk: Players may not achieve professional success
• Injury Risk: Injuries can end or limit careers
• Market Risk: Transfer market values fluctuate
• Illiquidity: Investments cannot be easily sold or transferred
• Long Timeline: Returns may take years to materialize
• Total Loss: You may lose your entire investment

6. KYC and AML Compliance

GateFC complies with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. We require:

• Identity verification (government-issued ID)
• Proof of address
• Source of funds declaration (for large investments)
• Ongoing monitoring of transactions

We reserve the right to freeze accounts and report suspicious activity to authorities.

7. Investment Limits

Investment limits may apply based on:

• Your KYC verification level
• Your jurisdiction's regulations
• Campaign-specific terms
• Platform-wide limits

8. Reporting and Transparency

We provide investors with:

• Regular updates on player progress
• Annual investment statements
• Tax documentation where applicable
• Portfolio performance analytics

9. Dispute Resolution

Investment-related disputes will be resolved through:

• Initial mediation through GateFC
• Binding arbitration under DIFC rules if unresolved
• DIFC Courts for legal proceedings

10. Tax Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with tax obligations in your jurisdiction. GateFC does not provide tax advice. We recommend consulting a tax professional.

11. Termination

Your investment agreement survives account termination. You will continue to receive distributions from active investments even if your account is closed.
